CRISIS APPEAL FOR FIRE-STRUCK ANIMAL SANCTUARY

The Alternative Animal Sanctuary is a last-chance home for animals with nowhere else to go. Some arrive in desperately poor condition, after having received serious abuse, others are unwanted and faced destruction, slaughter or abandonment when no other home was available.

The Alternative Animal Sanctuary is a last-chance home for animals with nowhere else to go. Some arrive in desperately poor condition, after having received serious abuse, others are unwanted and faced destruction, slaughter or abandonment when no other home was available.

On 1st February 2008, the Sanctuary experienced a devastating fire. 5 dogs, 2 rabbits, 5 geese and 2 chickens lost their lives. All the Sanctuary premises including the 36 stables, barn, house and 2 caravans were burnt to the ground. The animals have lost everything.

One of our beloved Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Polly (pictured above), we believe fled the premises at the time of the fire. There were reports the next day that she had been hit by a car in a nearby village. Despite all our thorough efforts and contact with authorities to find her, she remains unaccounted for. If you should see her please do contact us as we are desperate to be reunited with her again.

We really do need your help at this desperate time. Providing a permanent and caring home to over 130 animals, the Sanctuary is run entirely by volunteers. 99.9% of all donations are used to provide food, shelter, medical care and other essentials. Any donation that you can make at this time could not be more vital to the animals. We quite literally are starting from nothing. Whatever you can spare today will truly be one of those donations that really does make a difference. Please, please help the animals.

Please send your donation today. Whatever you can spare will all go directly to the animals.

Cheques should be made payable to:
